The ‘Companion’ was born of sheer frustration when the maker, himself a fly fisherman and fly tyer, tried to buy a cabinet but found that all the market could offer was boxes and bags which he considered totally unsuitable or too expensive – or both!
Refusing to compromise, he designed and made his own. But before doing so he spoke with other fly tyers, some of whom already possessed boxes or bags. The general consensus was that such devices had inherent disadvantages - they were fussy and grossly overpriced for what they were – they weren’t proper cabinets!

ECONOMY, EASE OF USE and GOOD LOOKS was the message so these features were taken as the criteria and resulted in the ‘Companion’. Now in use from Carlisle to California and Nottingham to New Zealand, each one is still hand made to order and available direct from the maker only.
